"Foxhole Brotherhood" Painting
This painting, titled "Foxhole Brotherhood," was created by Marine Combat Artist John Fabion. It depicts 3 Marines sharing a crowded foxhole somewhere on Iwo Jima, an experience Joseph R. Julian was no doubt familiar with in his time on the island. Fabion's painting would earn the Painting of the Year Award in 1946 at the Pepsi-Cola Annual Art Competition in Chicago, Illinois.
